Happy Men's Health Month

June is Men's Health Month, a moment to spotlight the health challenges men face and support them in taking charge of their well-being. Whether it's your partner, dad, brother, or BFF, this is your cue to check in and show up.

👨‍⚕️ Why It Matters

Men are less likely to see a doctor and more likely to ignore symptoms until it's too late. This silence leads to preventable diseases and shorter lives. Men's Health Month exists to change that: it's about breaking stigmas, encouraging check-ups, and making space for real convos around physical and mental health.

🩺 The Big Health Risks
  • Heart Disease: The leading killer of men and largely preventable
  • Mental Health: Stigma = silence. And silence fuels crisis
  • Prostate + Testicular Cancer: Screenings save lives
  • Diabetes: Manageable when caught early
🧠 Let's Talk Mental Health

Emotional well-being is health, period. Help the men you love speak up about what they're carrying. Man Therapy is a great place to start—smart, approachable, and designed to meet men where they are.

🎗️ What You Can Do
  • Start the convo: Share resources and normalize talking about health
  • Take action: Join an event or simply ask how someone's really doing
  • Book the appointment: Help them find a provider at zocdoc.com
Men's Health Month isn't just awareness, it's an invitation. To care louder. To normalize vulnerability. And to help the men in our lives live longer, healthier lives.

What To Do When You're Still Showing Up To a Job That Broke Your Heart

You know that feeling when you're done with your job, your team, the whole emotional mess, yet you still have to clock in like nothing's wrong.

Maybe you've outgrown the role.

Maybe it's turned toxic.

Maybe your boss betrayed your trust.

Something shifted that made it clear: you're not meant to stay.

But you haven't left…yet.

You still need the paycheck. You're still figuring out what's next. So here you are—working through it while working through it.

I've been there. Multiple times. Here's how to survive the in-between:

1. Reduce the Toxicity

Start by identifying what drains you the most: Is it that one coworker? A certain meeting? Slack messages at 9 p.m.? Whatever it is, minimize your exposure as much as possible.

You don't owe anyone your emotional availability while healing. Create micro-boundaries. Take lunch alone. Skip the after-hours chatter. Protect your peace.

2. Update Your Resume

Now's the time to quietly prep your exit. Polish that resume, practice your interview answers, and start applying.

Even if you're not emotionally ready to hit submit on applications, building momentum reminds you: you have options.

3. Find Your Allies

You don't have to do it alone. Find one or two people at work who truly get you, who feel safe.

These are your future references, your behind-the-scenes hype squad, your future support system. Keep those connections close.

4. Refocus Your Energy

Stop wasting your energy on resentment or anxiety. Redirect it.

Pick up a hobby. Start a side hustle. Volunteer. Pour into something that reminds you you're more than your job title. When you fill your life with purpose outside of work, the job starts to shrink back to its actual size.

5. Put It Into Perspective

Yes, work takes up 80% of your waking hours. It's valid that it feels heavy.

But zoom out. On your deathbed, you're not going to say,

"I'm so glad I stayed that extra two weeks to help out the team."

You're going to remember your courage. Your peace. The way you chose yourself when it counted.

This moment is temporary. But how you treat yourself through it? That's what sticks.

Leaving a job that hurt you is never easy. But staying while you plan your exit? That's radical self-care. You don't have to fake a smile. You just have to take one clear, self-honoring step at a time.
