25 June 2025 Weekly Highlights ­ Weekly Highlights ­ Hours after Iran fired missiles at the largest US airbase in the Middle East, in Qatar, on Monday, US President Donald Trump announced that he had brokered a ceasefire, halting the escalating conflict between Iran and Israel. We unpack whether the fighting is merely on pause or it is over, and who gained what from the conflict.   Back in the US, Trump hosted Pakistan's army chief, Asim Munir, for lunch at the White House. This marked the first time a US president hosted a Pakistani military chief who was not the country's head of state.
