| TODAY'S TOP STORY | It's Friday, and it's the first day out in the wild for OpenAI's GPT-5 model. From what we can tell, it's an incremental improvement—not a science fiction breakthrough. In some areas it offers PhD-level smarts, but in others it's worse than its predecessor, which has been retired.
